Are you concerned for your financial future considering what’s happening in Washington, D.C., and on Wall Street? And why?
Yes very much. To much debt and irresponsible spending will ultimately be our economy's down fall. It is a question of simple math. We as a country cannot continue to pay more and more interest on a growing debt balance. I am very concerned about the continued health of our capital markets in the wake of the ultimate day of reckoning when the interest payments on our country's debt has gotten too large and we really begin to choke.

As for Wall Street, they need to get back to raising capital to form new businesses and get people back to work. True access to capital at he investment banks seems to be a closed club. Many firms are focused more on trading and market play than on the real original purpose of raising capital for promising start ups. Creativity is being stifled and the little guy is being hurt as a result.

Their is more than enough talent in this country to stimulate our economy to the degree required. We can turn the tide. We must finance and cultivate our talented visionaries in new enterprising endeavors that will create job opportunities across all sectors.
Is money important to you and why?
Money is important to me because it is the only ready medium of exchange used to acquire goods and services from others. Many things can be used to barter. However bartering is very antiquated. So we use currency. Money is very important because it is what we use to help the sick and needy. We as individuals strive to also accumulate money to somehow measure our success. Many would debate this philosophy of money being a measure of success. I myself feel it depends on the situation when applying the money is success philosophy.
At the end of the day we all are motivated to own, control, acquire, and accumulate money for one reason or another. Some reasons good and unfortunately some bad.
What changes would you like to see made to our financial system.
We need those that are in the business of performing in the market be more accountable for failure. They need to be required to get help when things are not going their way. They need to establish a real code of conduct that is centered around quality control and customer service. The attached link is a discussion on the Wall Street Insight Mutual Fund Constitution, a pilot program designed to help struggling money managers improve performance.
What steps do you think can be taken to repair the relationship between Wall Street Financial Professionals and members of the general public.
Customers need to own up to their own mistakes and stop pointing the finger at some one else. They also need to stop accepting failure and start expecting success from the financial professionals they do business with. Financial professionals need to work a lot harder at performing for the customer. Many financial professionals avoid doing the homework and preparation needed to truly become a great investor. If the professionals do what is need to improve their skill sets they will then be able to make it back in to the graces of the general public.
What encourage you in becoming a member of Wall Street Insight.Net?
To help members of the financial community gain more education about the world of finance and to survive the winds of change that are swirling through the markets. The world is rapidly changing. Power and influence to a large degree has been put in the hands of the social networks. Wall Street Insight is the first true educational financial social network. I want to be on the winning side. So I joined Wall Street Insight to help solve the problems instead of adding to the problems that plague the members of the everyday general public.

The Story of Mr. Jones

Posted on March 30, 2012 at 3:00pm 11 Comments

This is a hypothetical story of Mr. Jones, a retired person who gets caught in a bad set of circumstances.

When Mr. Jones first retired back in 1993 things looked pretty good.  At 61 years old with $2.50 million dollars saved up it looked like he was well prepared. Mr. Jones played things very safe.  He did not invest in stocks or real estate. He did not fall victum to a fraud or ponzi. He has made decent money off  his $2.50 million dollars every year and he did not try to live above…

The following examples illustrate the money that gets lost over the years when investors continue to under-perform.

I am encouraging readers to seriously evaluate where they stand and where they are going with there…
